This is the exam prep portion of our Leadership/Guide Training. You'll find the on-water portion of this course starting on May 29th.
This classroom-based session will give participants an overview of content covered in the Maine Guide License Exam for Sea Kayaking, and we will review knowledge required of a successful Maine Guide Candidate. Curriculum will be adjusted according to student needs and questions, and we hope to foster a dynamic group-learning environment, where each student is able to contribute their knowledge, and learn from their classmates' strengths. The class will work through sample questions, and we will offer each student a mock-oral exam - in our experience, these mock orals are one of the most important factors in preparing for the Maine Guide Exam. Participation in this class does not guarantee that you will pass the Maine Guide Exam (which is administered by the State of Maine in Augusta). However, we are proud of our students' high first-attempt pass rate over the past 6 years that we have been offering Maine Guide Training.
This course is appropriate for paddlers with established on-water leadership skills, who have had BCU 4-star, ACA L3 Instructor, or who have completed a similar Leadership Training (such as that offered on June 5th-8th).
