Coastal Kayaking Skills. Enjoy an up-close introduction to the spectacular islands, caves, and cliffs of Frenchman Bay while refining your kayaking skills. This day of coastal skills training will be offered in the context of a journey. Join us to learn or review a variety of foundational skills, from paddle strokes to rescues, and get on the path to creating your own adventures in a sea kayak.
This class is appropriate for those who are fairly new to sea kayaking, or experienced paddlers without much prior instruction. (For a great flatwater intro, or if you haven’t learned capsize recovery skills, joining us for Rescues and Strokes on July 13th for will help you get the most out of this Coastal Skills day.)

This course is part of Coastal Skills Week, including: Rescues, Bracing, and Strokes Refinement (July 13th); Coastal Skill (July 14th); Navigation, Tides, Basic Currents (July 15th); and Coastal Journey (July 16th). All together, this week makes a great transition from novice or flat-water paddler to competent coastal sea kayaker.
