Three days of comprehensive skills development for competent ocean paddlers who are looking for new challenges.  Each day we will choose a venue based on conditions, to make the most of the learning opportunities that surround Mount Desert Island.  Paddling environments will likely include reversing falls, coastal tide-races and rock gardens.

This three-day format will allow us to focus on underlying fundamental themes of paddling performance, applying and refining them in a variety of situations over a number of days.  The relationship that can be developed over a longer course, between coach and participants as well as between the experienced participants, has the benefit of providing for more personal and individualized instruction than is possible in a series of one-day classes.  (Preference will therefore be given to students who are available for all three days of this course.)

This course is appropriate for paddlers who are comfortable paddling in 1-2 foot waves, have had prior instruction with strokes and rescues and for whom the pictures below look like fun!
