**You can participate in the Sea Kayak Coach DST as a standalone program if you have already completed a Core Coach Training.
The Coach Award content is delivered over two programs ‘Core Coach Training’ and ‘Discipline Specific Training.’
The Core Coach Training explores a variety of evidence based approaches to coaching and facilitating learning, it also addresses core coaching skills. The Core Coach is a pre-requisite for discipline specific training, but is also useful as continuing education for instructors and instructor trainers from other national bodies interested in developing a more intentional and evidence based approach to delivery.

Core Coach Training Prerequisites
· Full Home Nation Association Membership (British Canoeing Membership)
The Sea Kayak (moderate water) Discipline Specific Training focuses on brining the content explored in the Core Coach Training to life in moderate water venues. Essentially, it looks at the How we coach and What we coach in the moderate water coastal environment.

Discipline Specific Training Prerequisites
· Core Coach Training (or equivalent, see Coach Award Course Guide)
· Relevant Leadership Award for some disciplines (see Coach Award Course Guide)
· Full Home Nation Association Membership (British Canoeing Membership)
